Acrobatic flyers all over the world will be so jealous of my skills after seeing this video, lol! In my AcroYoga class we usually spend the first half working in groups where everyone bases, flys and spots. By the end of class we usually separate into base and flyer with the option to grab someone from another group to continue to work on the skill that is not your strength. I am often humbled when I fly because I do with so little finesse and muscle my way through.
The reason I do encourage cross training in this way is to see it and feel it from the others point of view. This is a great way to encourage empathy for your partner in acrobatics and hopefully will translate into the rest of life as well.
